Brigid O’Connell has been a journalist for more than 20 years at various print media outlets in Australia. Most recently she has been the health reporter for the Herald Sun since 2008.
She has won a Melbourne Press Club Quill Award for best Suburban Reporting, and Special Commendation in the United Nations Media Peace Awards.
Brigid also teaches journalism at Deakin University, is an author and delivers Country Press Australia’s cadetship program which trains regional and rural journalists around the country.
Her most important job is being a mum to three daughters aged 3.5 years and 18 months. Brigid’s identical twin toddlers have a CCD.
